Privacy overview

At Wellington Barn, we are committed to protecting your privacy. When you visit our website, we may collect certain information to improve your browsing experience and to communicate with you when necessary. This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies our website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. For any privacy concerns or data deletion requests, please contact us at events@wellingtonbarn.co.uk.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit. They are used to remember your actions and preferences over time. Cookies can be temporary (session cookies, deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remaining until they expire or you delete them). They may be first-party (set by our website) or third-party (set by an external provider whose content or service appears on our website).

Websites can also store information using similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage. In this policy, we use the word "cookies" to cover all of these technologies.

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies on the Wellington Barn website for the following purposes:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for the website to work properly, including remembering your cookie consent choices. These cannot be switched off.
  • Statistics (Analytics) Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive at the site, so we can improve its performance, structure and content. The information is collected in aggregate form. Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months.
  • Marketing Cookies: Help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising, for example by recording when someone visits our website after clicking one of our adverts.

Some features on our website are provided by third parties, such as our viewing booking calendar. These providers may set their own cookies, as described below.

You can accept, reject or change your preferences for non-essential cookies at any time using our consent tool (see "Managing your cookie preferences" below).

Managing your cookie preferences

We use a consent management tool provided by Usercentrics to give you control over which cookies are used while you browse our website.

How to manage your preferences:

  • First Visit: When you first visit our website, a cookie banner will ask you to choose your cookie preferences.
  • Changing Your Preferences: You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the privacy settings icon at the bottom left of every page.
  • Customising Settings: The consent tool shows each service we use and its purpose, allowing you to accept all, reject all, or choose which categories and services to allow.
  • Saved Preferences: Your choices are stored in your browser so they are respected on future visits.

How to opt out of cookies

You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies and to clear local storage. Blocking all cookies may affect how the website works, including the booking calendar. For instructions, consult your browser's help pages.

You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
