Emily-Jane is one of our recommended Photographers here at Wellington Barn, and has worked on a number of Weddings with us. As we approach the Summer, we asked her some questions about her business and all things photography!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your photography business

Hi, I’m Emily — the heart behind Emily-Jane Photography.

My style is natural, relaxed, and full of warmth — I’m all about capturing genuine emotion rather than stiff poses

Photography, for me, is about storytelling. It’s the quiet glances, the uncontrollable laughter, the way your child holds your hand, or the look you give each other when no one else is watching. Those are the moments that matter, and those are the ones I love to preserve. My style is natural, relaxed, and full of warmth — I’m all about capturing genuine emotion!

When I’m behind the camera, I want you to feel completely at ease — like you’re just spending time together, not being photographed. That’s when the magic happens.

What made you decide to go into photography?‍

My journey into photography started with wanting to capture my own family being a mum of 3 —being to capture  the real, everyday moments as they don't last forever.

What began as a way to hold onto memories quickly grew into a passion for telling other people’s stories too. Now, I feel incredibly lucky to turn those fleeting moments into something lasting and meaningful. It's genuinely the best job in the world and every wedding is a privilege to be a part of!

As we go into the Summer season, what is your personal recommendation for Wedding Photos?‍

It's all about the colours of spring for me, capturing couples walking through the luscious green grass, amongst the spring flowers or those brightly coloured confetti shots under the powder blue sky and fluffy clouds.

I also do love a sunset shot and Wellington Barn is the perfect location for them!

Must have photo shots for 2026?‍

Golden hour or sunset shots.... there is something so magical about them!

I do love a veil shot too - they have a mind of their own and always create the most fun and artistic shots!

What do you love most about Wellington Barn?‍

Wellington Barn will always have a special place in my heart. It’s such a welcoming venue, and the whole day just flows so naturally there — it makes everything feel relaxed, easy, and genuinely enjoyable.

No matter the season, it just works. Every time it brings something different and completely magical, and the versatility of the space means there’s always something beautiful to capture.

The sunsets are unreal (honestly some of the best), and with the most incredible team behind it, it never feels like work when I’m there… just a day of doing what I love.

Top Tip for Couples when deciding on their photography?‍

Finding the right photographer is about more than just photos — it’s about connection. You’ll spend most of your day with me (sorry! 😜), so it’s important we click.

When you feel at ease, everything flows — more laughter, more natural moments, and ultimately, more beautiful, genuine photos.

What are your favourite Wedding Trends for 2026?‍

We’re definitely in the “anti-pose” era — which suits me perfectly, because I love nothing more than capturing those real, candid moments as they happen.

The genuine laughter, the little looks, the in-between moments… that’s where the magic is. It means when you look back at your photos, you’re not just seeing your day — you’re feeling it all over again.
