At the end of May we had the lovely Charlotte & Alex here at Wellington Barn for their special day.
As there was no event on the day before their wedding, On Friday 20th May, Alex & Charlotte, along with their family arrived at Wellington Barn to begin their simple but meaningful decorations. Each table was named after one of their many family pets, both past and present, to ensure they were all very much a part of the big day!
Charlotte and her family then headed down to our “Hyggee House by the Lake” that is only half a mile from Wellington Barn, and in a private, picturesque location, to begin their weekend of wedding celebrations!
The Lakehouse makes the perfect place for your bridal party to get ready, with ample room for everyone, plenty of mirrors, and natural light, it really is the most relaxing way to spend your wedding morning getting ready with your bridal party!
The morning of the wedding the final touches were added to the decorations, including some beautiful bright flower arrangements that a family friend arranged for the couple, that really tied everything together.
Charlotte looked absolutely stunning, and Alex just as smart in his uniform. Throughout their ceremony, the love they have for each other was so beautiful, and an honour to to be a part of.
After the ceremony, the wedding party all headed outside onto the patio for drinks, photographs, and some garden games the couple had provided.
Our stunning wildflower meadow had just come into bloom, so the couple made good use of it for their photographs, taken by the talented Simon Biffen.
The couple sat down for dinner and speeches shortly after, where Alex’s best man had everyone laughing at stories he had to tell of the groom.
Alex and Charlotte opted for a cheese tower instead of a traditional wedding cake, something we are seeing more and more of and is a lovely addition to evening food!
Then the party really started when the band began to play, with everyone taking to the dancefloor to show off their best moves!
We especially enjoyed this shot of one of our lovely bar staff, Liv, joining in with the party whilst cleaning up a spillage on the dancefloor, aided by a guest of course!
