After booking Wellington Barn back in 2018, Charley & Jacks’ wedding here with us was certainly a long time coming! Like so many, they faced postponing their day several times due to the pandemic, however this certainly did not affect their excitement and energy when the day finally arrived!
The night before the wedding Charley, her family, and bridesmaids, all stayed down at the Hyggee House by the lake, and woke up to sunshine ready for the big day ahead.
They opted for an outside ceremony down under our pergola, and at 1pm Charley walked down the aisle to meet her groom whilst the amazing Christine Kinder played the harp.
After their ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on our patio, where Charley & Jacks furry friends joined in with some photos and mingling!
Just after 3pm, the wedding guests were seated and the new “Mr & Mrs Roberts” were announced into the room by our dedicated event manager, before their wedding breakfast was served.
After dinner, the couple had arranged for bumpers cars and a “total wipeout” style inflatable to be set up outside, something we haven’t had here before and made for some fabulous photos!
The celebrations were rounded off with some fantastic fireworks from our supplier, Distant Thunder Fireworks.
Post wedding, we were lucky enough to receive the following feedback from Charley & Jack;
“From setting up the day before, until the day after the wedding, Wellington Barn were fantastic! The Hyggee House was perfect for me and the girls to get ready, so much space for the chaos of the morning!
The venue is gorgeous - as soon as we viewed it, we knew it was perfect for us - so much space for everything we had planned. Every guest commented on how beautiful the setting was and how relaxed the whole day was.
Our wedding day was the only sunny day that week, so we were lucky enough to have our ceremony outside under the pergola - which was perfect as we both had our hearts set on an outdoor ceremony and the nice weather meant our dogs could run around the meadows whilst everyone was mingling.
Everything ran so smoothly, and I honestly cannot think of anything that I would’ve changed! The bumper cars were a huge hit with all our guests, and the staff too!
