Wellington Barn has been standing on the same site for over 150 years. The origin of the barn itself is lost in the mists of time. First built as shelter for the oxen that once ploughed the valleys surrounding the barn, both sheep and cattle have called it home. Many generations of the Maundrell Family have known and loved "Welly Barn" and indeed used it for family and village celebrations over the years prior to the conversion.
The project began in 2005 and the first wedding was held in May 2006. Since then, Wellington Barn has become one of the premier venues in the South West, boasting guaranteed complete exclusivity and a location like no other.
The barn is surrounded by open farm and downland. The area is home to many rare and endangered species of plants and animals. Deer can often be seen bounding over the fields, Skylark song fills the air all summer long and Bush Crickets can be heard chirruping away in the evenings - a sound rarely ever heard in Britain.
There are several species of wild orchids in the area and many other endangered wild plants - some completely unique to this part of Wiltshire.
Wellington Barn is part of the family run business and the friendly, family feel of the venue comes through strongly. We place great emphasis on designing each and every event individually to meet, and exceed, the wishes of each client.
